I want to ensure you feel your absolute best during the shoot, because let’s be honest you want to look as relaxed as possible. With all the things we put our bodies through, here’s some prep work that will make things 10x easier!

Five stretches to help you loosen up and feel more comfortable getting into those stunning poses.

Before you step into the spotlight at our NASHVILLE BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY studio, consider incorporating these stretches into your pre-session routine, I would suggest a minute per side on these daily a week before your session. Keep in mind stretches should NOT hurt. Breathe into the stretch, and if you notice any tingling, numbing, or pain back off/reduce the time.

Shoulder Opener:
  • Stand with feet hip-width apart.
  • Clasp your hands behind your back and straighten your arms.
  • Lift your arms gently, opening up your chest and stretching your shoulders.
Seated Forward Bend:
  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended.
  • Hinge at your hips and reach for your toes.
  • Keep your back straight, feeling a gentle stretch in your hamstrings and lower back.
Hip Flexor Stretch:
  • Kneel on your right knee with your left foot in front, creating a 90-degree angle.
  • Shift your weight forward slightly, feeling a stretch in your right hip.
  • Repeat on the other side.
Cat-Cow Stretch: PERSONAL FAVORITE BESTIE
  • Get on your hands and knees in a tabletop position.
  • Inhale as you arch your back, dropping your belly and lifting your head (Cow).
  • Exhale as you round your spine, tucking your chin to your chest (Cat).
Neck and Shoulder Release:
  • Sit or stand comfortably.
  • Drop your right ear towards your right shoulder, feeling a stretch along the left side of your neck and shoulder.
  • Repeat on the other side.

These are just a few basic ones that will target your whole body! The goal is to promote flexibility and relaxation, ensuring you’re ready to strike those elegant poses effortlessly. & don’t forget I will still be coaching you on the poses that make the most sense for your body as well!

Happy stretching, and can’t wait to see you in the studio soon.
