When it comes to doing a Boudoir session there are many questions that arise especially with how many photographers there are in various areas. With the copious amount of photographers that means there are copious amounts of differences between each of them.
No two photographers shoot the same, and that means no two experiences will be the same either. Given that for most this is a first time experience, I wanted to put together a list of 10 questions you MUST ask to ensure your shoot is as grand as the final image reveals.
What does the session entail?
Here at the studio, we like to think of ourselves as a one stop shop for your dream images. Each session we strive to make it as smooth and worry free as possible. With that each session includes: a complimentary consultation to first make sure we are on the same page.
Once we have determined your goals for the shoot the rest of the session will include hair and makeup, access to the client closet, posing cues to help make the poses effortless and natural, plus an image reveal to select your favorite shots from the day.
Do you have any reviews/testimonials to share?
Personally, I believe EVERY photographer should have reviews or testimonials. You want to do your research on hearing from others how the experience truly was. You can read our reviews here
What style of photos do you do?
The biggest complaint I hear from clients is that they’ve had a photographer say they can shoot a style of photo and then under deliver. While Our studio has a wide variety of rooms and looks to help create whatever outcome you’re looking for, I strongly recommend you share your ideas during the consultation call to make sure we can accommodate your wants! If we can’t but know someone that can we will refer you!
Do I need to bring my own outfits?
My favorite thing about the studio is that the client closet has SO MANY options for all body types. If you would like to bring your own outfits by all means DO IT! We want this to be about you, and if you don’t have anything that you feel works trust me you have options here.
How long should I plan on being at the studio?
Each boudoir session will vary time wise depending on the packages booked. Hair and makeup will take roughly an hour and then depending on how many looks/rooms we are doing the time will grow from there. During your consultation call we can give a better idea as we narrow down what all we will be doing the day you arrive.
Am I allowed to bring anyone with me?
This answer will vary by studio but here at Boudoir by Stephanie Nivens we strive for comfort, and if that means bringing a friend or family member we can definitely discuss that. However, there are a few rules in bringing someone to the studio as well.
What is the turnaround time for getting images back?
When it comes to editing and the image reveal, we take pride in making it as timely as possible. Please keep in mind that when you leave the studio there is plenty more to be done to lead to the image reveal. If you are looking to book for a specific gift giving or holiday please be sure to book your boudoir session at least 8 weeks in advance to enable us to have everything ready for you!
Are the images just for me or will they be shared publicly?
All images are only shared on social media if consent is given. This session and shoot is all about YOU! If you are comfortable with us sharing your stunning images and release waiver will be signed, otherwise all photos will only be shared at your discretion once receiving them.
Is the price all inclusive or are there other fees?
We know budget can be a big concern when booking a shoot like this, and we try to make it as easy for you as possible. Our packages are all inclusive of services provided, and images being received. Packages will vary depending on additional sets or images purchased at time of reveal. To help make this easier too, we do offer financing options that can be discussed as well.
These are just a few common questions we are asked often, and our goal is to make you as informed as possible so that there are no surprises. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to us via email or Instagram. & We cannot WAIT to work with you.
